The Hotel and Restaurant Management Society is the official organization of Hotel and Restaurant Management majors of the University of Santo Tomas based in the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management. As an academic organization, we organize seminars and activities designed to complement the competencies gained by our members in their different courses.
We also encourage and support our members to participate in national culinary and foodservice competitions aimed at developing their skills and talents. The UST CTHM HRM has been engaged in various interschool and national competitions and our members never fail to bring pride and honor to our college.
In view of our vision of developing compassionate future hospitality practitioners, we also organize community development activities which aim to provide varied opportunities for self-advancement to our less fortunate brothers and sisters from our partner communities by sharing to them the skills we acquire from our program.
As part of the celebration of our annual HRM Week, the organization takes pride in its flagship project dubbed as the “Student Chefs On the Run (SCOR)”, which is a competition among its members that seeks to showcase their flair and creativity. It features culinary contests as well as skills competition that is sure to test the participants’ ingenuity.

The Hotel and Restaurant Management Society envisions itself as a platform for the holistic development of its members through the provision of sustainable projects and programs that will aid in honing them to become globally competitive future hoteliers and restaurateurs; likewise empowering them to keep their enthusiasm alive as they pursue their passion in any career in the dynamic hospitality industry.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Hotel and Restaurant Management Society of the University of Santo Tomas, inspired by the teachings and ideals of St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Hyacinth, aims:
To assist the administration in creating an expedient environment gearing towards holistic academic growth and development of the future hospitality practitioners;
To imbue competence, commitment, and compassion as core values of thomasian hospitality students;
To create opportunities for its members to showcase and share skills and interests which are significant in integrating and promoting the hospitality industry; and
To promote research as having a key role in the advancement and integration of the practices applied in the field of hospitality industry.
ABOUT THE LOGO
The Hotel and Restaurant Management Society logo comprises of three main parts which symbolizes the organization’s role in the different fields that surrounds it. First is the food service industry represented by the fork on the left, second is the lodging industry represented by the key on the right, and third is the University of Santo Tomas represented by the cross on the upper side for which the organization is under the Royal, Pontifical and Catholic University of the Philippines.
